There are very few things I want for Christmas

But to see the Patsies implode ... that would be on the top of my list.

Why the hate for New England? It's not like they're doing all that well this season anyway.

When you consider "New England" as a geographical location, I have nothing against the people or the place. It's a really nice place, and I lived close enough to it for over half my life. Good place to watch the leaves change in the fall.

In regards to the football team though ... that's a whole nother story. There is a long and sordid history between the Jets and Patriots. The bad blood primarily starts with Bill Parcells and his bringing Curtis Martin over to the Jets from NE. It went Vesuvius eruption-like when Belichick spent the Jets press announcement, announcing him as the new Jets head coach (after Parcells retired), on why he was resigning. It certainly didn't help when he eventually bolted to the Patriots.

Things have never been the same since. Add in Eric Mangini and Spygate and it's easy to see that there is no love lost between the two franchises and fans. Honestly, I wish the Patriots nothing but the worst. ;)

Here is an article which covers, in brief, the history of bad blood between the teams. It's a bit dated, but not by much.

I see - thanks!

(I'm a little ashamed to admit that if I had been a little less lazy and just read the part on your main blog page where you mention that you're a Jets fan, I would have understood without needing to ask.)

No worries. I don't expect anyone to memorize every little detail of me and/or my site. All is forgiven! :)
